The Saskatchewan government announced yesterday that masks are required in public spaces. Included in their announcement was an exemption for youth players while playing. However, they did not specifically mention adult players.
We have sought clarification on whether adults are required to wear masks during play but have not yet received a response. When we do receive clarification, we will make an announcement.
Either way, whether masks are required or not, we maintain our Withdrawal Penalty Schedule as usual.
The following schedule of penalties will be in effect if a team withdraws from the SAS League after the registration deadline (September 8):
1 - 7 calendar days after: Refund Fees Except for Fine of $100 8 - 14 calendar days after: Refund Fees Except for Fine of 25% of total fees 15 - 21 calendar days: Refund Fees Except for Fine of 50% of total fees 22 or more days: No refund
We continue to offer the same service and players can play with a mask.
The government also stated that masks will be required for a limited time. With our season’s games beginning on October 15, the mask mandate may be lifted by that time or shortly thereafter.
We're sure it goes without saying, but we will state it anyway: we hope you stay. We are encouraged by the number of teams and anxious to get back to play (even if it's in a mask)!
Thank you,
Saskatoon Adult Soccer Inc.
The SAS office and Saskatoon Sports Centre are currently closed to the public.
We remain committed to our members and will continue to be available during regular office hours by phone and email.
