Board of Director Nominations

The Saskatoon Adult Soccer Inc. (SAS) Board of Directors call for nominations for the position of Vice President (elected), Finance Director (elected) and Director positions (elected) for terms commencing after the 2023 Annual General Meeting.
 
The SAS Board of Directors consist of fifteen (15) Directors, including President, Vice President, Finance Director, and up to twelve (12) Directors as selected by the membership.
 
We have a vibrant soccer community and are seeking qualified candidates to play a role in the stewardship of our organization that reflect such values as engagement, transparency, and accountability. Candidates will have the skill set, expertise and experience necessary to further the vision and priorities of Saskatoon Adult Soccer Inc and lead us to a legacy of success on and off the playing field.
  

CALL FOR NOMINATIONS
 
The current call for nominations is for the following Board positions:

• Vice President (2-year term)

• Finance Director (2-year term)

• Six (6) Directors (2-year term)

Please note: Specific areas of expertise that SAS is looking to include are finance, law, governance, strategic planning, and risk assessment. However, we also encourage people with other competencies, including interest in soccer, to seek nomination.
  

QUALIFICATIONS FOR VOTING RIGHTS

1. Each Indoor 2022-2023 adult league team in good standing shall be entitled to one (1) vote.

2. Each Outdoor 2023 adult league team in good standing shall be entitled to one (1) vote.

DISQUALIFICATIONS FOR NOMINATIONS AND VOTING RIGHTS

1. Teams/Players that have not paid their fees.

2. No employee of any soccer league, association or zone (excluding SDSRAI referees) shall have voting rights on behalf of a team at the SAS Annual General Meeting. Employees also cannot be nominated.

3. No team or club shall have more than three (3) voting members on the Board of Directors at any one time.

THE NOMINATION PROCESS

1. Nominations must be submitted to executivedirector@saskatoonadultsoccer.com

2. Nominations must be seconded.

3. A person cannot nominate themselves.

4. Nomination deadline is October 15, annually. For 2023, the deadline is Sunday, October 15.

5. Consent to let a nominee’s name stand is required by October 31, annually. For 2023, the deadline is Tuesday, October 31.
